Cortisol is a hormone your adrenal glands release when you’re stressed and need extra energy. Adrenal Cortisol is your fight or flight hormone. Maybe some of you are thinking, “I must be cortisol from head to toe!” Our adrenal glands can profoundly affect our mood and health in our endless stream of stress during the day. Cortisol levels fluctuate during the day and night in a circadian rhythm. When our body is reacting to stress, and the adrenal glands produce Cortisol continually, it becomes almost impossible for the body to return to normal.
The adverse effects of adrenal Cortisol:
- Cortisol can have long-term effects on blood pressure

They also modulate the functioning of every tissue, organ, and gland in our body. It is critical to know your adrenal cortisol levels because the adrenals maintain homeostasis and significantly affect the way we think, feel, behave and even look.
