According to the Mayo Clinic:
“Irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) is a common disorder that affects the large intestine (colon). Irritable bowel syndrome commonly causes cramping, abdominal pain, bloating, gas, diarrhea and constipation. Ulcerative Colitis (UC) and Crohn’s disease, which are forms of inflammatory bowel disease, cause changes in bowel tissue.
You may ask, what is the difference between Irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), UC, and Crohn’s? The difference is that IBS is a disorder where as Ulcerative Colitis and Crohn’s are diseases.
At Nutritionally Yours Health Solutions we have known for years that nutrition affects how people feel and the symptoms they have. The owner is an Atlanta Holistic Nutritionist that truly understands how people feel that are suffering from IBS. We have successfully worked with numerous Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS), UC and Crohn’s sufferers. Once the “trigger” for their irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) symptoms is identified and eliminated, their conditions improve. However, the “trigger” is not always the same for every person.
For example, our Atlanta Holistic Nutritionist, grew up with Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) . Her symptoms started at around age 10. The cramping, aching and irregular stools affected her everyday life.
She had many traditional tests to find the cause but they were always negative. These tests included upper GI’s, lower GI’s, barium enemas and even several colonoscopies at a very young age. Back in those days, investigating if the irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) symptoms were caused by a food intolerance was not heard of. Her symptoms continued until the 1990’s when it was discovered she had ONE simple food intolerance. She stopped eating that ONE food and the irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) symptoms disappeared and have stayed away for good.
At Nutritionally Yours, our Atlanta Holistic Nutritionist, along with our medical doctor and staff have the ability to identify if there is a food or other trigger for your Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) symptoms. There may be one food intolerance or many food intolerances. There may also be a bacteria or parasitic issue that is causing you to feel unwell.
All of our testing is done by nationally certified labs so you are assured the accuracy of the results. Results are reviewed by our medical doctor and our Atlanta Holistic Nutritionist / Naturopath. We also provide you with a personal protocol to help you know what is needed to support better health and wellness so you can forget about these annoying IBS symptoms and get on with your life.
