When I start thinking about going to the beach and Bikini season, it seems to always creep up on me. I begin to think about speeding up the fat burning foods and supplements to make sure I am ready for the season. Now, not everyone is bikini ready, and not everyone wants to wear a bikini. For me, at age 58, a one-piece is what you will see me wearing on the beach. But, just like every other woman I know, we all want to look good while enjoying the water or resting or playing on the sand. If you are not “bikini ready” or “beach ready,” no worries, we have some helpful tools you can use.
First, let’s talk about fat burning foods that can help you lose weight, reduce inflammation, reduce appetite, and help you feel full, all at the same time.
Apples are a great source of fiber and rich in pectin, a substance that stops cells from absorbing fat which helps prevent fat storage! This super-food is one of the most accessible fat burning foods to fit into your day; grab one and take it anywhere you go. But, one trick is not to eat fruit alone; always pair it with a protein to keep your blood sugar balanced.
Wild-caught salmon is a healthy fat that helps to reduce the appetite, so you’re less likely to overeat. Salmon also has healthy fats like omega 3, s which help with focus and a good mood.
Sliced fresh avocados are a favorite of the fat burning foods. Avocados provide hunger-busting fiber along with fatty acids, which contribute to belly fat burn and fat loss.
Berries are filled with nutrition, but we especially like raspberries because of the ketones they offer. Ketones help you burn more calories, which is why I start my day off with my favorite ketone drink. (see below) Ketones are known to turn fat into energy and support fat loss.
Leafy greens are one of the healthiest fat burning foods that fill you with fiber without excess calories. Any food, especially a good, clean source of protein, is delicious when wrapped in bib lettuce! Another trick of mine to help the body burn fat is making a nice, big salad with plenty of leafy greens; I put 2 TBS of MCT oil on it for salad dressing. MCT is similar to coconut oil, but it helps burn fat to help people lose weight.
Eggs are amazing and often overlooked when people discuss fat burning foods. Eggs are high in protein and offer B12 which helps to break down fat. Keep a bowl of hard-boiled eggs in the fridge for a snack, or add them to a salad. Eggs also have choline in them, which is helpful for focus ability.
