diabetesA diabetes supportive diet can help improve your blood test numbers and symptoms. When clients come into our clinic suffering from diabetes, many of them have the similar symptoms. These may include weight gain or inability to lose weight, nerve pain, inflammation, emotional ups and downs and more. People with Diabetes normally have to manage and track their food intake every day to avoid increases in glucose or insulin levels. You can still enjoy food, but some dietary reorganization needs to be done limiting the amount of sugar and certain carbohydrates. Many people start to discover all of the healthier and delicious tasting food that is available to them. Sugar and certain carbohydrates need to be reduced but they do not need to be totally eliminated from the diet. If you like a treat every now and then, as long as your diet is healthy and well balanced you should be just fine. For example I like brownies, gluten free of course. If I eat a brownie every night for dinner and have Diabetes that will definitely cause symptoms and high numbers on test results. If I eat a small brownie once a month or for a special event, I may not feel terrific the next day but I will normally bounce back just fine because the amount of brownies I may eat are limited. I also like pizza, but instead of once a week eating pizza I will enjoy it twice a month and only order 1 or 2 slices and enjoy a nice big, healthy salad with it.

Many people only test glucose and Hemoglobin A1C, the other item to consider testing for is insulin. We actually see more clients that have high insulin which is called insulin resistance, then we see having Diabetes. We have seen high insulin levels starting at early ages, even people in their 20s.

No matter what the blood sugar imbalance is, we can help get your diet better and get you feeling fine. There are natural diabetes and blood sugar supportive supplements at our office if you wish to take the natural approach.
