We’ve all had it! It begins with a sniffle, and before you realize it you’re feeling like you’ve become a bobblehead! You’re teeth hurt, you may have pain and pressure in your face, inner ear pain, a headache, your sense of smell and taste are far from average, and then there’s the sinus discharge. It all works itself into a storm of assaulting issues and can be so overwhelming it becomes your life’s mission to rid yourself of this horrible condition! What Could Be Causing Sinus Troubles that began all this in the first place?
Sinusitis or sinus infection is inflammation of the air cavities within the passages of the nose. Sinus infections can be caused by infection, allergies, chemical or particulate irritation of the sinuses. Knowing what could be causing sinus troubles may be challenging to pinpoint, however, treating early sinus issues may prevent secondary bacterial sinus infections. In other words, the longer mucous sits inside your sinus cavities, the worse it becomes!
What could be causing sinus troubles could be part of your daily environment, a common cold, allergies, food reactions, environmental items like dust or dander, tissue irritants such as over-the-counter nasal sprays, dehydration and lack of humidity in the air. Especially in winter months, we turn the heat or maybe build a nice fire in the fireplace inside our homes and humidity dwindles to almost zero! When there is a lack of hydration in our mucous secretions, we blow our nose, but it’s unproductive. This lack of moisture creates stagnated mucous which provides the perfect environment for bacteria to grow.
We may not know what could be causing our sinus troubles but finding and addressing them is of utmost importance. The symptoms of sinus trouble can be overwhelming and utterly disruptive to our daily routine, and chicken soup is basically the ONLY good part of a sinus infection but don’t allow your sinus troubles to get to that point!
